Back in Philly

I'm back in Philly because I'm going to be a bridesmaid in a wedding this weekend. Good times. It's fun to be back. It's only Saturday morning and I've already had quite an adventure. In the past 24 hours I've had five orgasms, got a bath from a role model of sorts, had a conversation with a politician who looks and smells like a big mac, kept a pastor up past his bedtime, yet never gave him anything, and have consumed mass quantities of animal planet themed fruit snacks.

In this past week I've been fucked in the ass by my grad school professor, fucked in my cunt by at attorney from Maine and had a massive orgasm at the hands of a Swedish (or perhaps Norweigan-hard to say) beauty in the changing room at my gym. I also danced for many men in a steakhouse/gentleman's club in the sunshine state last weekend. All in all, it's been a fulfilling 7 or 8 days.

Homesick....well, maybe just a tad

Homesick....well, maybe just a tad You know you're not in Philly anymore when...

1. The McDonald's around the corner from you has a menu entirely in Spanish (no joke)

2. You learn that maybe you shouldn't wear your expensive jewelry while walking through the Bronx on your lunch break (the school I'm observing at right now is located in the Bronx), next week I start a three week rotation in Harlem. At least that's technically in Manhattan.
3. A large black man who refers to himself in the third person and thinks he's big stuff because he "got full time" at Hoolihan's and was "raised down in Brooklyn" tries to serande you by belting out a song called, "I'm in love with a Jersey Girl." I was just informed that this is a Bruce Springsteen classic. Didn't know that. At first I thought he made up the song, but someone just told me differently.
4. You get pulled over for speeding over the GW bridge at 1 a.m. and you actually get a speeding ticket for it. Do you all have any idea how many times I used to go barreling down the AC expressway at 85 mph and I NEVER actually got a ticket for it! Not even once. The cops up here don't seem to be phased by my flirtations....grrrr....so that settles it, the car is going home for sure now. My daddy was supposed to take it last weekend, but I decided to keep it an extra couple weeks...that turned out to be a bad idea. Sigh.
5. You realize that although the pizza is to die for, nothing can compare to late nights at the Continental. :(
6. You realize, that yes, you really can do half a million things at a quarter to 3 in the morning. Beautiful.7. The A train is much faster than the EL.

Happy Easter

I've been up here for nearly 3 weeks now. People keep emailing, commenting asking how it's going so I thought it was time for an update. There are positive things and negative (not really bad things, just small negative things).

Let's start with the small negatives:

1. The new job is fun, but at the same time, exhausting..I'm always on my feet and it's a lot of hands on and teaching and relating. I enjoy that to an extent, but there is a part of me that longs to be back in a board room wearing one of my suits with a table full of mostly men engaged in heated business discussions. I miss finding out with only 48 hours notice that I'm jumping on a plane to somewhere in Europe or Asia. I miss arguing with men in my office about politics. I miss men around the office making me into their personal eye candy. Most of my superiors right now are females. One of them told me yesterday that I'm doing a great job, but that I need to increase the length of my skirts and decrease the amount of cleavage I show. Oops.

2. I was nearly abducted the other night by a crack whore from the Bronx. Long story. Let's just hope she never shows up again.

3. I have to get up at the butt crack of dawn on Sunday morning because my dad is taking me for Easter breakfast or brunch or something like that at the Regis.

4. When my dad comes, he's also taking my car back home because it has numerous scratches, dents and key marks all over and it's only three months old. :(

Onto the positives:

1. I now live in NYC.

2. Even though they pay me a lot less money up here, I can go to sleep at night knowing I made a difference in someone's life rather than just sealing a deal and then going out for drinks all night

3. The pizza up here is much yummier than the pizza in Philadelphia. Those of you who know me well, realize how important that is. Lots of grease. Yum.

4. Next weekend in my birthday and me and three of my girls are off to Aruba (only negative part about that is that since this job is a little differrnt than my previous one I can't take off work, so it's a Friday night to Sunday night trip). :)

5. Did I mention I live in NYC??? :)
